Lodge Membership Officer

Hello and welcome to my page, here I will outline my commitment to you during your membership application to join the Wychwood Lodge.

Here at the Wychwood Lodge we believe in:

1) Respect for others
2) Being honest and having strong moral principles
3) Making new friends
4) Supporting Burford and its local community
5) Enjoying Freemasonry
6 Supporting local charities

As soon as I receive your intention to join Freemasonry usually via email I will:

1) Respond to you within 3 working days. 
2) Within two weeks I will arrange to meet with you at a mutually convenient place to informally discuss your interest in Freemasonry and the Wychwood Lodge in particular. At this point I will exchange details with you and ask you for some personal information for the purposes of progressing your application. (This will of course remain confidential).
3) Over the next 4 weeks I will arrange for a screening process to be undertaken for your membership, and I will personally contact you regarding the outcome.
4) Within the following 6 months you will be invited to attend a formal meeting at the Lodge to meet the other Brethren and for a short interview. Here where we will ask you a few standard questions about your desire to join Freemasonry. Don't worry about this process it is a formality and I will discuss the process with you before hand. You will also be invited to ask us questions as well.
5) Following this process and within 12 months you will be formally invited to join the Wychwood Lodge and your initiation ceremony will be undertaken, this is the beginning of your masonic journey.

If I fail to meet any of the requirement's I have set out for myself above you have the right to complain, either to our Lodge Secretary, the Provincial Membership Officer, or the Provincial Grand Secretary.

It is my greatest wish that the membership process and your masonic journey will be a very positive experience for you. If you wish to make any suggestions of how I can improve this process I would welcome your feedback.

PS Here at the Wychwood Lodge we have broken with our old tradition of not accepting joining members. This means that if you are an existing mason of good standing and currently unattached we would welcome your application to join us.
