Welcome to the Royal Arch news page. Here you will find information on both the Wychwood and Windrush Chapters.

The Wychwood Chapter meets here in Burford while the Windrush Chapter meets in the nearby town of Witney at the Witney Masonic Center on Church Green.

The Royal Arch is a beautiful degree, dramatic in its Ceremony, and full of allegory and hidden meaning. It takes brotherhood to the next level as Craft Masons become Companions in the Royal Arch in their journey through life.

As such, it is recognised as the completion of a Craft Mason’s journey through ‘Pure and Ancient Freemasonry’ from Initiation to Exaltation.

In England and Wales there is an indissoluble link between Craft Freemasonry and the Royal Arch, with the Royal Arch being considered the completion of a Freemason’s journey in "Pure Antient Masonry".

If you are a Master Mason of four weeks standing you are eligible to join the Royal Arch, please contact the Royal Arch ambassador at your craft lodge or use the contact us tab to make an initial enquiry. Further details can also be obtained here.

Windrush Chapter 1703
4th May 2023

On the 4th May the companions of the Windrush Chapter 1703 were pleased to complete a full installation of their three Principles and Chapter Officers. The superb meeting was rounded off by a fantastic festive board, making it a very enjoyable evening amongst friends. On this occasion we were very pleased to receive a visit from the MEZ of the Wychwood Chapter E. Comp. Chris Walker PPrGSN along with E.Comp. Allan Peates PrGSN, E.Comp. Grahame Lee MBE PrGSwd and E.Comp. Alistar Eden who stood in for Comp. Allen Smith PProvGSwdB (who was celebrating his 90th birthday, and whom we wish many happy returns) to provide us with his unique blend of musical accompaniment.
